On Therapy
Deciding to seek psychotherapy can be a step of courage.
Reaching out for support may feel vulnerable—especially during challenging times.
Asking for help in those times is a radical act.
I approach therapy as a collaborative process for you to enter into a relationship with a therapist to seek change for yourself. Rather than a place for you to receive advice, I believe therapy is a supported journey of self-discovery to explore your internal emotions, strengths, and resources—and to discover how your inner world, your relationships, and your external circumstances all interact.
As a therapist, I will do my best to:
help you identify goals and potential solutions to challenges
help improve your own coping and communication skills
support the strengthening of your self-esteem and self-compassion
and, promote desired, sustainable behavior change and optimal mental health
